Reaching Thirsk
- From the South, leave the A1(M) at Dishforth (junction 49) and
follow the A168 for 5 miles. Take the B1448 into Thirsk. 1/4 mile after
pelican lights take first exit at mini roundabout, passing Tesco. After 80
yards, as the main road (A61) bears left, turn right into Newsham Road.
- From the North (A1) and West, follow the A61 into Thirsk, with the
racecourse on the left. After the roundabout at Tesco, turn sharply left
into Newsham Road as the main road swings right.
- From Northallerton, York and Scarborough, go to the Town Centre and
leave the Market Place following the signs for Ripon (A61). After 1/4 mile,
turn right at the mini-roundabout, passing Tesco. After 80 yards, as the
main road (A61) bears left, turn right into Newsham Road.

Getting to the Courts
- Drive along Newsham Road for 1/4 mile to Thirsk Athletic Club (2nd
building on the left). The car park entrance is just before the building. If
this is full continue for 150yds to extra parking on the left.
- Cross the racecourse and head diagonally across the cricket field for
200yds (please avoid the batting square and walk round the perimeter if a
match is in progress) towards the tennis courts, which have floodlight
pylons.
- Some changing facilities are available in the court-side pavilion, and
showers are available in the clubhouse, when open.
- THE COURTS ARE CLOSED FOR A FULL HOUR BEFORE A RACE MEETING UNTIL A FULL
HOUR AFTER IT HAS FINISHED. Access across the racetrack is STRICTLY NOT
ALLOWED in this period. Please do not deviate from this procedure or the
closure period could be extended FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY REASONS.
